Refund Policy

Carvalho Engineering Consulting

1. GENERAL POLICY

Due to the specialized nature of engineering consulting services, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. This policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may be considered and the process for requesting them.

2. SERVICE CATEGORIES

2.1 Completed Services Once engineering services have been delivered, including but not limited to:

  • Completed reports and calculations

  • Technical drawings and specifications

  • Site assessments and inspections

  • Delivered consultation sessions

No refunds are available as the intellectual property and professional time have been provided.

2.2 Work in Progress For projects terminated before completion:

  • Client is responsible for payment of all work completed to date

  • Partial refunds may apply only to unused retainer amounts

  • All completed deliverables remain property of client upon payment

3. REFUND ELIGIBILITY

3.1 Eligible Circumstances Refunds may be considered in the following situations:

  • Service not delivered: If contracted services are not provided due to Company inability to perform

  • Duplicate payment: In case of processing errors resulting in double charges

  • Pre-work cancellation: Project cancelled before any work has commenced (subject to cancellation fees)

3.2 Non-Eligible Circumstances Refunds will NOT be provided for:

  • Change in project scope or client requirements

  • Client dissatisfaction with professional opinions or recommendations

  • Market conditions or external factors affecting project viability

  • Delays caused by client or third parties

  • Force majeure events preventing project completion

4. CANCELLATION TERMS

4.1 Pre-Commencement Cancellation

  • Cancellation more than 48 hours before scheduled start: Full refund minus 10% administrative fee

  • Cancellation within 48 hours: 50% refund of paid amounts

  • Cancellation on start date: No refund available

4.2 Post-Commencement Cancellation

  • Client pays for all work completed plus reasonable costs incurred

  • Any remaining retainer balance may be refunded after deducting completed work and expenses

5. REFUND PROCESS

5.1 Request Procedure To request a refund:

  1. Submit written request to: benedito.carvalho@gmx.de

  2. Include original invoice number and payment details

  3. Provide detailed explanation of refund grounds

  4. Allow 10 business days for initial response

5.2 Review Process

  • All refund requests will be reviewed individually

  • Additional documentation may be requested

  • Decision will be communicated in writing within 15 business days

5.3 Processing Time Approved refunds will be processed within 30 business days via the original payment method.

6. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

6.1 Good Faith Resolution We are committed to resolving any service concerns through direct communication and good faith negotiation.

6.2 Mediation If direct resolution is not possible, disputes may be referred to professional mediation before pursuing legal remedies.

7. QUALITY ASSURANCE

7.1 Service Standards All services are provided in accordance with professional engineering standards and industry best practices.

7.2 Revision Policy Minor revisions to deliverables due to calculation errors or omissions will be provided at no additional cost within 30 days of delivery.

8. PAYMENT TERMS REFERENCE

This refund policy operates in conjunction with our standard payment terms:

  • Payment due within 30 days of invoice

  • Late payment fees apply after due date

  • Services may be suspended for overdue accounts

​

9. EXCEPTIONS

9.1 Emergency Services Rush or emergency services may have different cancellation and refund terms as agreed in writing.

9.2 Long-term Contracts Multi-phase or long-term consulting agreements may have specific refund provisions outlined in the individual contracts.
